Chunhong Wang, female, born July 1980, member of the Communist Party of China, holds a Doctorate. Currently serves as Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Tiangong University, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Changjiang Scholar appointed by the Ministry of Education, and Academic Leader in Chinese Textiles. Serves as Deputy Director of the National-Local Joint Engineering Research Centre for High-Performance Fibre and Textile Composite Materials Preparation Technology and the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory for Advanced Textile Composites. Also holds academic positions including Director of the China Textile Engineering Society’s ‘Plant Fibre Reinforced Bio-based Composites’ Research Base, concurrently serving as Director of the Society’s Sustainable Textile Technology Committee, Deputy Director of the Hemp Textile Committee, Standing Council Member of the 27th Council, and Committee Member of the China Jute and Hemp Textile Industry Association’s Jute and Hemp Committees.

With over two decades of expertise in developing sustainable biomass-based textile materials, she has led more than 40 research projects including National Natural Science Foundation grants. Her accolades comprise over 20 provincial/ministerial-level awards, including the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, First Prize of the China National Textile and Apparel Council Science and Technology Progress Award, and Second Prize of the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Progress Award.

She has published 256 high-quality academic papers, including 105 indexed by SCI and EI, and was listed among the Top 1% Highly Cited Scholars on CNKI in 2024. She has authored 14 academic monographs and industry-guiding white papers, with two publications receiving the First and Second Prizes for Outstanding Publications from the China National Textile and Apparel Council. She holds 39 authorised patents, several of which have received the China National Textile and Apparel Council Gold Medal for Patents, Tianjin Municipal Outstanding Patent Award, and China National Textile and Apparel Council Outstanding Patent Award. These patents have been successfully commercialised and applied within the industrial sector, contributing to the formulation of multiple standards including China textile industry standards, Tianjin municipal standards, and group standards.
